All State Choir Information & Links
Fall Conference October 27, 28 & 29, 2011
Audition pieces for 2011 are listed below for each choir.
Please direct all questions concerning a particular choir to the coordinator of that group.
GENERAL HONOR CHOIR INFORMATION:
Postmarked date for all audition forms is September 9th. Judging will take place on September 17th and 18th. Results will be posted to the website on September 19th. Please read directions on audition forms carefully. Make sure forms and CDs are mailed to the appropriate honor choir coordinator.
All State students register at 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2011, and participate in an evening of note check rehearsals. Reading sessions, interest sessions, concert performances and rehearsals with the All State conductors begin on Friday morning, October 28, 2011.
The conference will conclude with performances on Saturday, October 29, 2011, by the Children's All State Choir at 1:00 p.m., followed by Youth, Women's, and Men's All State Choirs at 2:30 p.m.. at First Baptist Church.
*College Honor Choir and Conductor’s choir concerts will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28th at First Baptist Church.

Children's All State Choir
The Children's All State Choir represents the most gifted fourth, fifth and sixth graders in Louisiana. The students are selected for this choir through a taped audition process in the fall. The All State Choir rehearses and performs during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

Youth All State Choir
The Youth All State Choir is comprised of approximately 150 singers in the ( 6th grade boys with changed voices), and male/ females voices in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades. The choir is a mixed SATB group selected through a very competitive taped audition process in the fall. The Youth All State Choir rehearses and performs during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

Audition cut is: Measure 1-41 (or the beginning through the bottom of page 7). Youth Choir Conductor: The conductor this year is Dr. Patrick Walders, currently conductor of choral activities at James Madison University.
Women's All State Choir
The Women's All State Choir is an SSAA group of up to 120 students. Tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade female students enrolled in a high school choral program in Louisiana are eligible to submit audition tapes in the fall for this highly selective ensemble. The Women's All State Choir rehearses and performs during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

The clinician for the 2011 Women's All State Choir is Dr. Sandra Snow of Michigan State University.
Men's All State Choir
The Men's All State Choir is comprised of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade male students enrolled in a high school choral program in Louisiana. They will follow an audition procedure for this highly selective ensemble.

We are beginning at mm 25 on the top of page 6, they begin singing at mm 27, and sing to the end of the piece.
The clinician for the 2011 Men's Choir is Andrea Ramsey. She composed the 2010 Women's Choir audition piece and is a doctoral student at Michigan State University.
Collegiate All State Choir
The College Honor Choir is an SSAATTBB group of college singers. Students enrolled in a La. College Choral Program are eligible to submit audition recordings in early September for this outstanding choral group. The College Honor Choir will present a performance on Friday evening during the conference. Time/ location TBA
